Engage Seminar PDF Print E-mail
On Wednesday, 5th March Nicholas Houghton, who is a research consultant for engage, will be presenting a synthesis of the findings of the engage research project at the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill-on-Sea, Sussex. This will be part of a seminar is for gallery educators, artists, teachers and researchers who have taken part in the enquire and envision programmes since 2004. It is also expected that young people will be involved in the presentations and discussions.

The purpose of the seminar is to bring together participants in both of these important research programmes in order to discuss:

  • what have we found?
  • what impact has the programme had?
  • what are the implications?
  • what next?

The seminar will also combine the first seminar for a new European Learning Partnership. The seminar is an opportunity for enquire and envision participants to meet with colleagues from other European countries.

Enquire is a major, national research programme that has been investigating a range of aspects of gallery education and, in particular, of young people learning with artists. engage is the organisation that promotes access to, enjoyment and understanding of the visual arts through 'gallery education' - projects and programmes which help schoolchildren and the wider community become confident in their understanding and enjoyment of the visual arts and galleries.
