The Cultural Rucksack PDF Print E-mail
StavangerJanuary 29-31, Stavanger, Norway: The Cultural Rucksack is a programme of arts education in Norway that enables all children to have an arts and cultural entitlement. Recently this programme as been reviewed and findings from this evaluation have formed the basis for parliamentary discussions in Norway about the quality and extent of arts education. Within this climate the conference of Samspel 2008 attracted arts and cultural policy agencies from throughout Norway to hear the Keynote Address delivered by Professor Anne Bamford.

This also provided an opportunity to discuss evaluation of the Nordic programmes and digitalising of the Rucksack to form lifelong arts portfolio. The weather in Stavanger may have been bleak, but the performances and discussions in the conference ensured a warm welcome. More information about the Cultural Rucksack can be found at www.denkulturelleskolesekken.no.
